TONIGHT (and now every last Thursday of the month!) is our first @brewlabartseries hosted by THE AMY’S (@amylynnespinastanfieldjarmie and @thelittlestudioca)!
This months art series is a class on natural dyeing. Learn how to create a dye bath using avocado pits and skins (very Carpinteria 😅). The class includes a brewLAB beverage of choice, an organic Turkish tea towel to be dyed on site, a natural dye zine to take home and a chance to meet some other art inspired folks in the community! Spots are still available for tonight class.

Every monthly class will focus on a different medium/form of art. Stay tuned for next months class by following @brewlabartseries!

The man, the myth, the legend @that_irish_idiot ‘s (long awaited) ART EXHIBITION TODAY. @guitarwitt playing the live tunes at 5pm as well!

This show has a bit of a background story…
Back in early March of 2020, @that_irish_idiot had just finished hanging his art the weekend before LorboFest was planned to take place here in the parking lot. Featuring one of our favorite local artists while all of Carp’s favorite local bands joined forces to jam in memory of Lorbo was set to be a collaboration of epic proportions. @that_irish_idiot had just finished a special portrait painting of Lorbo to honor him that day, hung on the wall separated from the rest of his pieces.

Just a few days later we were notified by the city/county/state that all restaurants and bars had to close due to a virus outbreak. Lorbofest had to be cancelled and @that_irish_idiot ‘s art hung on the wall of our empty tasting room for months while the world spiraled into the chaos of what would be a years long COVID pandemic. That wall (which the art was originally hung on, pictured in slides 2 and 3) no longer exists in todays version of brewLAB. Looking back at photos of those days brings back a lot of feelings and memories.

Today (over 3 years later) we celebrate @that_irish_idiot ‘s amazing talent as an artist (and his birthday!) as well as our friendship. We’re lucky to have you in this community and thank you for everything you do, including inspiring us in our own art(s). Cheers to you Ruari and to many more years of listening to your stories and jokes (only some of which are actually good…😂)!
